Father James Mawdsley decided to take a stand against the July 2021 attack on the traditional Latin Mass, the motu proprio Traditiones Custodes by Bergoglio and its December follow up clarification.

He willingly left the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter so as to speak out boldly against the start-at-the-top corruption of the Catholic Church without getting the FSSP in needless further conflict with the regime in Rome.
